The RoSPA Awards are among the most respected in the health and safety field, recognising dedication to preventing accidents and protecting lives in workplaces worldwide. The President’s Award is reserved for those who maintain this high standard for over a decade. AFI won its first President’s Award in 2024.

This latest accolade covers AFI’s performance across all areas of health and safety from January to December 2025, reinforcing our unwavering focus on the well-being of our people, customers and partners.

What this means for you:

•    You’re hiring from a company with a proven commitment to safe working at height

•    Our health and safety standards are reviewed and validated annually by the industry’s top independent body

•    Our team is trained, audited and dedicated to upholding the safest practices across every job.

David McNicholas, CEO of AFI Rentals, said:

"Safety sits at the heart of our business. We’re honoured to accept the RoSPA President’s Award. Achieving 12 consecutive Gold Awards reflects a deep and ongoing commitment to keeping people safe.

The recognition isn’t the result of a single moment or a single team; it’s the outcome of consistent effort, shared responsibility, and a culture where safety comes first, every single day. I want to thank everyone across our organisation for their dedication, vigilance, and care for one another. We know our work doesn’t stop here. We remain committed to improving, learning, and ensuring that everyone goes home safe at the end of each day".

This recognition adds to a long list of accreditations and awards across safety, sustainability and innovation, including our EcoVadis Bronze Medal for sustainability and continued recognition from RoSPA reflects not only long-term consistency but also measurable progress across key areas of our HSEQ performance.

Over the past year, AFI has delivered continuous improvements in injury frequency rates, reduced road traffic incidents, and strengthened the way HSEQ is communicated across the business.

We have also enhanced our training programmes to ensure they are purposeful, relevant and focused on developing practical skills, alongside achieving improved external audit results. In addition, we continue to reduce our environmental impact through initiatives such as carbon footprint reduction and carbon offsetting.
