AFI Rentals has published its latest sustainability update for Q4 2025, reporting continued progress in reducing emissions across its nationwide operations.
The update builds on the milestone announced in September 2025, when the company confirmed it had offset more than one million kilograms of CO₂ through its carbon offsetting scheme. That figure has now risen to over 1.3 million kilograms of CO₂, reflecting ongoing investment in certified carbon offset projects since the initiative launched in 2023.

Alongside carbon offsetting, the business continues to reduce operational emissions across its property estate and day-to-day activities.
Continued reductions in energy use and travel - The latest report shows that AFI Rentals’ gross carbon footprint (location-based) is approximately 1% lower than in December 2024. Its market-based footprint, which includes renewable electricity supply and carbon offsetting activity, has also decreased slightly year-on-year.
Several operational improvements contributed to this progress during the reporting period:
• Electricity use across AFI’s property estate decreased by 28% year-on-year
• Gas consumption across properties reduced by 9% year-on-year
• Business mileage fell by 13% year-on-year, reflecting more flexible and efficient ways of working
These ongoing improvements form part of a longer-term trend. Overall, AFI Rentals’ emissions are now 32% lower than they were seven years ago, demonstrating sustained progress in reducing the company’s environmental impact.
Carbon offsetting scheme continues to grow - Since launching the AFI Carbon Offsetting Scheme in 2023, the company has now invested in more than 1.3 million kg of CO₂ offsets (over 1,300 tonnes).
The scheme allows AFI Rentals to mitigate emissions from equipment transport and operations while supporting certified carbon-reduction projects.
Customers can also help reduce emissions through digital transactions when ordering and off-hiring equipment. Through this process, AFI offsets 200% of collections and 100% of deliveries, helping customers reduce the carbon impact associated with equipment hire.
Fourth consecutive EcoVadis award - AFI Rentals has also received its fourth consecutive EcoVadis award, earning a Bronze medal for 2025. This places us in the top 35% of businesses assessed globally, based on EcoVadis’ evaluation of environmental performance, labour practices, ethics and sustainable procurement.
Long-term focus on sustainability - AFI Rentals continues to invest in initiatives that improve operational efficiency and reduce environmental impact across the business.
Through energy efficiency improvements, investment in lower-emission equipment and ongoing carbon offsetting, the company remains focused on delivering practical progress towards a more sustainable future.
