AFI Rentals has added a Carbon Footprint feature to its customer portal, giving customers information on the estimated CO₂e generated by their use of AFI Rental equipment and from the transport of machines to and from their sites.
The new feature adds carbon emissions information to the same AFI portal customers already use to manage hires and access other account documents. Customers can view emissions data for a selected period, then explore the figures for individual machines (Scope 1 emissions) and from associated transport movements (Scope 3 emissions). The portal also explains the basis of the calculations.
For customers working towards their own sustainability goals, the information provides valuable insights for HSEQ and sustainability teams to use within their own environmental reporting. Furthermore, better understanding emissions associated with their use of access equipment will help customers’ procurement teams plan their future hire activity and move towards equipment with a reduced environmental impact.

Our portal already provides detailed information about their hire activity from AFI, but by now adding emissions calculations in the same place, they can gather even more insight about their hire activity, use data to support their own environmental actions, and have more informed conversations with AFI about future fleet requirements.”
As well as reviewing total emissions from their hire activity with AFI, the Carbon Footprint functionality also allows customers to explore the purchase of carbon credits, through AFI and its sustainability partner Ecologi, to offset some or all of these emissions.
Customers can access the feature by logging into their existing AFI customer portal and selecting Carbon Footprint from the menu. Further information and help are both available to customers by contacting their AFI team.
