The AFI group of companies has invested in circa 200 New MEWPs from Skyjack.
One of the UK's powered access specialists, AFI group of companies has started to take delivery of circa 200 access platforms from Skyjack to boost the range and availability of popular machines in their hire fleet.
New additions to the AFI range include the Skyjack SJ9664RT the new 20m full size rough-terrain diesel scissor lift (new to the UK market and the AFI fleet) and the Skyjack SJ86T (28m telescopic diesel boom).
The new SJ9664RT still boasts the features that are associated with Skyjack, including an axle-based four-wheel drive, but with increased platform heights to compliment the growing trend for working on taller buildings and more work at increased heights. Platform heights have increased, as have platform capacities.
The investment includes additional units of some of the more popular Skyjack MEWPs for hire from AFI's fleet, including Electric Scissor Lifts, Articulating Diesel Boom Lifts and Diesel Scissor Lifts.
Approximately 50 % of units ordered are green (electric/hybrid scissor lifts) which include the Skyjack SJ3219 and Skyjack SJ3226 electric scissor lifts, Articulating Diesel Booms include Skyjack SJ46AJ, Skyjack SJ63AJ and Skyjack SJ85AJ and other Diesel Scissors on order include the Skyjack SJ6826RT and Skyjack SJ6832RT from Skyjack’s compact diesel scissor range.
Last month AFI announced a major investment in electric and hybrid equipment for their powered access fleet with leading manufacturers to meet extra demand from customers wanting to hire electric scissor lifts and hybrid cherry pickers.
