AFI ANNOUNCES £12M INVESTMENT FOCUSING ON HYBRID AND BATTERY POWERED UNITS
The AFI group of companies has announced a multi-million-pound investment boost to update and expand its powered access hire fleet.
One of the UK's leading powered access specialists, AFI group of companies has placed orders for over 300 new machines, of which 70% will be green or greener alternative (electric or hybrid). Orders with a value of over £12M have been placed with leading manufacturers (including Skyjack, Genie, Dingli, Niftylift, Haulotte and JLG) to increase the availability of the popular machines in AFI's hire fleet.There will also be several brand-new additions to the AFI range of scissor and boom lifts and the Super-Set range of large machines.

"This latest investment will enable us to expand the capability of the entire hire fleet of MEWPs and offer a diverse and efficient range to meet demand, as more customers strive to meet sustainability objectives throughout supply chains. Over 70% of the orders placed are for electric or hybrid machines with low emissions, making them ideal for use on restricted sites, in low emission zones, specialist applications and indoor work. The new stock began to arrive in October and run through until April 2022 and will increase service levels and flexibility to our customers across the entire UK."
The £12M represents AFI’s commitment to the UK market and ongoing fleet investment programme to ensure a modern, reliable, quality and efficient rental fleet to meet customer requirements. The new machines will go straight into the hire fleet, alongside the current range of electric, diesel and hybrid units including scissor lifts, telescopic boom lifts and articulating boom lifts.
